WHAT: Paragon Strategies’ “Creative Agency Summit: Hiring & Retaining Your Best Talent,” will discuss best practices, issues, challenges and opportunities available to communications consultancies in today’s extremely competitive talent market.

Creative consultancies have a “Talent Boiling Point” now that budgets have increased with an improved economy and the same talent who are nearing burn out are asked to take on more work, while firms are scrambling to hire new talent to fill the recent demand of new business. All of this is happening while nearly 70% of employees in every industry are disengaged, according to research from the Gallup Organization, and 75% of all employees are looking for new jobs, according to the 2004 U.S. Job Recovery and Retention Survey released by the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).

This panel discussion will address two critical issues for Creative Agencies:

WHO: Dr. John Sullivan is author of a new book: Rethinking Strategic HR: HR’s Role in Building a Performance Culture. His work on e-hr was dubbed “brilliant” by management guru Tom Peters and Fast Company Magazine coined him the “Michael Jordan of Hiring.” Dr. Sullivan has served as a Professor of Management at San Francisco State University for more than 20 years.

Courtney Bannister is currently the Human Resources Director for Grey San Francisco. She started her career in Human Resources at Goldberg Moser O'Neill, which later became the West Coast office of Hill Holliday.

Kelly McKenna is a management supervisor on Manning, Selvage & Lee’s West Coast Global Health team and training director of the San Francisco office.

Jean McKenzie is president and founder of McKenzie and Associates, an award-winning San Francisco design firm founded in 1986. For the past four years, The San Francisco Business Times has named McKenzie and Associates in their "Top 100 Women-Owned Business List.”
